Class of 2026 WVU Football Commit Shows Off Elite Strength With Bench Press Footage Days after flipping his commitment from Coastal Carolina, West Virginia 2026 OL prospect Camden Goforth impresses with his bench press footage.

WVU Lands Powerhouse Offensive Lineman Camden Goforth for 2026 Class

The West Virginia Mountaineers appear to have secured a significant talent for their 2026 class with the recent commitment of Camden Goforth, an offensive lineman from McMinn County, Tennessee. Goforth, who flipped his commitment from Coastal Carolina to West Virginia, brings a level of intensity and physicality that perfectly aligns with Coach Rich Rodriguez’s “hard edge” philosophy.

Goforth’s commitment was already exciting due to his “nasty highlight footage,” which showcases his aggressive playing style. He told Rivals after committing, “I promise to bring physicality and intensity.” This powerful declaration is now being backed up by undeniable evidence from his training. Recent footage of his work in the weight room further demonstrates why Rodriguez, his coaching staff, and the entire WVU fanbase should be absolutely thrilled about his decision to become a Mountaineer.

He recently posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) of himself dominating what he called the “Big Man Challenge.” This gruelling test, reminiscent of the 225-pound bench press assessment seen in college and professional combines, saw Goforth perform an astonishing 33 repetitions at 185 pounds. This impressive feat follows an earlier video from this spring where he shattered his high school’s record on the squat rack, cranking out an incredible three reps at a staggering 640 pounds. And just to put things in perspective, he confidently assured viewers that this colossal weight was “nowhere near” his maximum.

This display of raw, unparalleled strength is undoubtedly a primary reason why Coach Rodriguez and offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. are so eager to welcome Goforth onto campus and integrate him into the program. Beyond his immense power, his versatility is another critical asset that has the coaching staff excited. Goforth himself revealed, “They want me to be able to snap so I could play any of the three interior positions.” This means he isn’t just a strong player; he’s a highly adaptable one, capable of filling various crucial roles across the offensive line. He’s a true game changer.
