The Boston Celtics recently extended head coach Joe Mazzulla’s contract for several years, a decision aimed at ensuring stability within the organization and giving him confidence as he leads the team through what is anticipated to be a transitional season outside of championship contention.
“This is truly a blessing,” Mazzulla expressed in the team’s official statement. “I owe this opportunity to my faith, my wife, and my children. We’re grateful for the ownership’s support, Brad’s guidance, and the commitment of our staff.”
Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck echoed that sentiment in a conversation with the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, saying, “Bill, Brad, and I all believed it was important to secure Joe’s future and make sure he feels supported. Our goal is to empower him to be the championship-caliber coach he is, and I really admire the way he brings energy to this team.”
