Celtics Expected Trade Price For Derrick White Revealed.

The price for another team to trade for Derrick White is not what other teams may be hoping for.

The Boston Celtics could be active this offseason as they look to cut costs and avoid going over the second tax apron. One way to do that might involve some tough roster decisions.

Derrick White is reportedly drawing a lot of interest from other teams, who see him as a valuable trade target. If the Celtics are serious about trimming their payroll, moving White may become a consideration although they would much rather keep him. Boston values White highly for his perimeter defense and three-point shooting. If a trade does happen, acquiring him won’t come cheap; The Athletic reports that the asking price could be comparable to what they’d want in return for Jaylen Brown.

It’s clear that Boston doesn’t want to trade either White or Brown. Both players are considered key parts of the team’s future, and the Celtics would prefer to part with other pieces before breaking up that core. They’re focused on holding onto as many talented young players as possible.

As a result, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are seen as more likely trade candidates. Unless Boston receives an exceptional offer, they’re not expected to move either White or Brown. That said, everyone has a price, and if the right deal comes along, the Celtics wouldn’t hesitate to make a move.

With Jayson Tatum likely missing most of next season due to a torn Achilles, this could be the moment for the franchise to consider a soft reset.

Derrick White had a strong season, averaging 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 44.2% from the field and 38.4% from three-point range.
