
The Canadian 4x100m relay team comprising Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney, and Andre De Grasse claimed victory at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday, clocking in at 38.09 seconds.
This same lineup previously captured gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they posted an impressive time of 37.50 seconds.
De Grasse also triumphed in the men’s 200m final at the Florida Relays on Friday. The 30-year-old sprinter, originally from Markham, Ontario, currently trains in Gainesville under coach Mike Holloway. The U.S. squad featuring Christian Coleman, Kyree King, Erriyon Knighton, and Robert Gregory finished second with a time of 38.16.
Another Canadian team, consisting of Malachi Murray, Duan Asemota, Norris Spike, and Eliezer Adjibi, secured third place in the relay, crossing the line in 39.13 seconds.
Meanwhile, track and field excitement continues at the Grand Slam Track meet in Kingston, Jamaica, where Canada’s Marco Arop is set to compete in the men’s 1500m. Coverage begins Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.
