Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink, 23, is in the midst of planning her wedding to fiancé Ben Felter, and her ‘Straight to Cam’ podcast co-host, Sydel Curry-Lee, is just as excited. Curry-Lee, whose brothers are NBA stars Steph and Seth Curry, is closely involved in the preparations.
“The planning process is going well, but it’s slow,” Brink tells ‘PEOPLE’, eagerly adding, “The bachelorette party comes first!”
Curry-Lee, 30, shares a deep family bond with Brink their parents have been best friends since college. Brink is even using Curry-Lee’s wedding planner, inspired by her godsister’s 2018 wedding to Phoenix Suns player Damion Lee. “I loved everything about Sydel’s wedding, so I’m happy she’s letting me copy her,” Brink says with a laugh.
As a co-host on Brink’s ‘Wave Sports & Entertainment’ podcast, Curry-Lee admits it’s surreal seeing her longtime friend prepare for marriage. “It’s going to be so weird watching little Cam get married,” she says. “But in our family, getting married young is the norm except for Seth.”

The Curry family is thrilled for Brink and excited to support her in this next chapter. Having known her since childhood, Curry-Lee fondly recalls Brink’s goofy, creative side. “She always thought she’d be an artist,” she shares. “She didn’t want to be an athlete at first, but it’s been amazing watching her blend her love for fashion and basketball.”
Brink reminisces about their childhood bond, recalling how she tried to imitate the Beyoncé dance routines Curry-Lee performed with her cousins. “That’s one of my earliest memories,” she says.

The two have been enjoying their podcast journey, with one standout guest being ‘Special Forces’ winner Kayla Nicole. “She’s a breath of fresh air,” says Brink. “People need to appreciate her for the incredible person she is.”
Curry-Lee adds that Brink has a knack for manifesting great guests, including rapper NLE Choppa. “We’ve been lucky to have amazing conversations with everyone who joins us,” she says. “It’s been such a fun experience.”
