Caitlin Clark Talks Shooting Contest With LeBron James and Steph Curry

Caitlin Clark is changing women’s basketball forever.

The women’s game has long struggled for attention, but everything shifted with the arrival of WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark. Now in her second WNBA season, Clark returned Saturday against the New York Liberty after missing five games due to a left quadriceps strain. “I don’t know about that,” she replied.

Still, her shooting numbers are elite. The 23 year old is hitting 36.7 percent from deep on 9.8 attempts per game. Despite her brief absence, she’s averaging 21.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 9.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in 34.2 minutes per game.

Off the court, Clark continues to show respect for the greats. She’s frequently praised LeBron, even calling him the greatest ever.

“That’s one of my idols, LeBron is the GOAT to me,” Clark said. “He really does follow the WNBA. He watches and he loves and appreciates basketball, and he loves and appreciates the way the Fever and my teammates play. I didn’t see it before the game, but a lot of people sent it to me.”

As Clark keeps thriving, her influence will only grow. She’s on pace to be not just a women’s basketball legend but an all-time basketball icon, period.
