Buy of the year: Addin Fonua-Blake celebrates his Sharks debut with a try as Cronulla rout the Raiders.

The Sharks impressed in their preseason clash against the Raiders, winning 40-10, with Addin Fonua-Blake proving why he could be a game-changing addition. The powerhouse prop scored a trademark try early in the second half, highlighting his ability to break through defences.

Despite icing his groin after a scheduled break, Nicho Hynes showed flashes of his Dally M-winning form, combining well with Braydon Trindall, as both halves crossed for tries off kicks.

Livewire fullback Kaeo Weekes also starred, using his blistering pace to set up the opening try of the match, solidifying his hold on the No.1 jersey. Meanwhile, rookie Savelio Tamale impressed in the backline with strong carries and a forced error that led to a Seb Kris try, boosting his chances for a starting spot.

Fonua-Blake finished the night with eight runs for 92 metres, showcasing his ability as a dominant middle forward. With their attack clicking and Ronaldo Mulitalo poised for a big try-scoring season, the Sharks look primed to be among the league’s top-scoring teams. However, both sides will need to tidy up their play-the-ball discipline, with officials cracking down on errors ahead of the season opener in Las Vegas.
