Azzi Fudd’s Shooting Workout Sparks NBA Trainer’s Bold UConn, WNBA Draft Prediction..

A recent workout Azzi Fudd did with an NBA skills trainer has him convinced Fudd has a big season in store.

With Paige Bueckers now playing in the WNBA, the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team faces the challenge of defending their 2025 NCAA national championship without one of their biggest stars.

Despite losing Bueckers, as well as Kaitlyn Chen and Aubrey Griffin, UConn has done well to revamp its roster. A major move was adding forward Serah Williams from Wisconsin via the transfer portal. Williams, who averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds last season, will significantly enhance the Huskies’ offense. Returning talent also gives UConn plenty of firepower, especially with Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd two of the most gifted players from last year’s squad alongside Bueckers expected to lead the way. With Strong and Fudd shouldering more of the scoring load, fans have every reason to expect breakout seasons from both.

Fudd, like Bueckers, has trained with NBA skills coach Chris Brickley. On May 13, Brickley posted a clip from one of Fudd’s recent workouts, highlighting her outstanding shooting technique.

In the caption, Brickley wrote: “Exclusive look into @azzi35 first workout since her NCAA Championship MVP!! Azzi will be the best player in the country next year in college and projected the #1 pick in the 2026 WNBA draft‼️ Time Flies! I remember our workouts when you were in High School!!!”

While Brickley’s prediction that Fudd will dominate college basketball and go No. 1 in the 2026 WNBA Draft is ambitious, it’s within reach as long as she remains healthy.
