Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently discussed her eating habits in an interview, revealing her approach to cheat days. As she prepares for the 2025 track season, the Olympic champion reflected on her diet and training routine.

McLaughlin-Levrone had a phenomenal 2024 season, winning two gold medals at the Paris Olympics. She claimed her first in the 400m hurdles, setting a stunning world record of 50.37 seconds while defeating top competitors Anna Cockrell and Femke Bol. She then secured her second gold as part of the 4x400m relay team, which finished with a time of 3:15.27. Now in her off-season, she is gearing up for the 2025 track season, including the World Championships.

During an appearance on ‘The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast’ with her husband, Andre Levrone, McLaughlin-Levrone opened up about her diet. She explained that her meals primarily consist of high-protein foods, healthy carbohydrates, vegetables, and plenty of water. While she enjoys occasional sweets, she prefers healthier alternatives. She admitted that any day could technically be a cheat day, depending on the level of indulgence. She also shared how her husband helps her maintain balance, reminding her not to be too restrictive to avoid binge eating later.

As she prepares for the upcoming season, McLaughlin-Levrone is set to begin her competitions at Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track League. She was among the first athletes signed for the league in June 2024 and expressed her excitement about being part of the initiative. In an interview with ‘FloTrack’, she described it as a significant step forward for the sport, improving both athlete compensation and fan engagement.

Johnson, a legendary sprinter, praised McLaughlin-Levrone, noting that he identified with her approach to competition. He recalled facing similar criticism for being all business on the track and emphasized that results came first, with personality shining through afterward. Recently, McLaughlin-Levrone also received a special gift from Johnson and the Grand Slam Track team, further cementing her role in the league’s future.
