Aliyah Boston lauds Indiana Fever resiliency amid injury onslaught.

After Indiana’s dramatic 99-93 overtime win over Connecticut on Sunday, forward Aliyah Boston highlighted the team’s resilience through an injury-plagued season. The victory came despite another setback, as guard Sophie Cunningham exited early with a knee injury, leaving the Fever even thinner at the guard position. Boston stressed the importance of unity, lifting one another up, and staying motivated through both good and difficult moments.

The 2023 No. 1 overall pick emphasized that the group’s “next woman up” approach has been essential in overcoming constant challenges. That mentality showed again on Sunday, with Kelsey Mitchell stepping up in a huge way—scoring 34 of her 38 points in the second half and overtime to help erase a 21-point deficit and seal the win.

Head coach Stephanie White credited the team’s toughness, selflessness, and togetherness for their ability to consistently rise to the moment. She said those qualities can’t be taught but are what drive the Fever to keep battling through difficult stretches. White praised the players not only for their on-court contributions but also for the belief and effort each brings, regardless of playing time.

“I’m just so proud of them for continuing to believe, continuing to step up, and continuing to give,” White said. “Every single person on this roster impacts winning in their own way.”

The Fever now return to Indianapolis for a five-day break, using the time to rest, regroup, and await updates on Cunningham’s condition. There’s also optimism that Caitlin Clark may increase her practice involvement ahead of a potential return.

Following the pause, Indiana faces a major test at home against the league-leading Minnesota Lynx on Friday, August 22, with tipoff set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game will air on ION.
