Alfie Burden in Champion of Champions field with Ronnie O’Sullivan not included in star-studded 16-player line-up.

Alfie Burden has officially been named as the final entrant in the 2025 Champion of Champions snooker tournament, completing the 16-player field. Notably, seven-time world champion Ronnie Oโ€™Sullivan was left out of the lineup despite initial expectations that he would claim the last available spot.

Organizers had earlier announced that the remaining place would go to the highest-ranked player who had not won a title over the past year. However, it was later confirmed that Burden, the reigning World Seniors champion, would receive the invitation instead. The event is set to take place at Leicesterโ€™s Mattioli Arena from November 10โ€“16.

Burden expressed gratitude on social media, thanking the Players Board, several fellow professionals including Ken Doherty, Neil Robertson, and Mark Davis, as well as Matchroom and Jason Francis for their support.

Jack Lisowski, who recently won his first career title at the Northern Ireland Open by defeating Judd Trump, joins the lineup brimming with confidence. His breakthrough performance earned widespread praise, with Stephen Hendry calling him an โ€œunbelievably beautiful player to watchโ€ and suggesting that the victory could spark a strong run of form.
