The Los Angeles Sparks have signed Alissa Pili to a 7-day contract, the team announced on Sunday.
Pili, selected 8th overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2023 WNBA Draft, was waived by the team last month. Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts, who coached Pili during her final two collegiate seasons at the University of Utah, is well-acquainted with the forward. Under Roberts’ guidance, Pili earned 2023 Pac-12 Player of the Year honors.
Now 24, Pili has appeared in 36 WNBA games across two seasons, averaging 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game, with shooting percentages of 43.3% from the field and 34.2% from three-point range. Before transferring to Utah, she played at USC for two years and attended Dimond High in her home state of Alaska.
The Sparks currently hold a 12-15 record, ranking 10th in the WNBA.
