The Indiana Fever are excited to welcome guard Aari McDonald to the squad, signed via the emergency hardship exception. A dynamic playmaker with elite quickness and defensive intensity, Aari brings a fresh spark to the team as we navigate a tough stretch of the season.
McDonald, a 2021 first-round draft pick and former All-American out of Arizona, made an immediate impact in the WNBA with her speed, energy, and relentless competitiveness. Known for her ability to pressure the ball and get downhill in a flash, she adds depth and experience to our backcourt at a time when it’s needed most.
In her previous WNBA stints, Aari showcased her knack for making plays on both ends of the floor—whether it’s creating off the dribble, attacking the rim, or locking up defensively. Her college career was nothing short of electric, leading Arizona to its first NCAA championship game appearance and earning Most Outstanding Player honors of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Now, she brings that same fire to Indiana. As a team that continues to build chemistry and fight through adversity, Aari’s toughness and determination align perfectly with the Fever’s identity. She knows how to rise to a challenge and we’re confident she’ll do just that in Indy.
We’re grateful to have her on board and ready to go to work.
Welcome to Indy, Aari. Let’s get it!
