Usain Bolt has Sent an Inspirational Message to all Aspiring Record Breakers Worldwide After Being Recognised as an Icon by the Guinnes Book of Records…

June 19, 2025 – Kingston, Jamaica – Legendary sprinter Usain Bolt, widely hailed as the fastest man in history, has once again inspired millions — this time with his words. Following his formal recognition as a global icon by the Guinness Book of Records, Bolt shared a heartfelt message aimed at encouraging aspiring athletes and record breakers around the world.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist and multiple world record holder was honored in a special ceremony by Guinness World Records this week, acknowledging not only his unprecedented achievements in track and field but also his cultural impact, sportsmanship, and enduring legacy.

In a message broadcast during the event and shared across social media, Bolt reflected on his journey from a young boy in Trelawny, Jamaica, to becoming one of the most celebrated athletes in modern history.

> “Records are meant to be broken,” Bolt said. “When I was a kid, I never imagined I’d one day be called an ‘icon’ by Guinness World Records. I just loved to run. I trained hard, stayed focused, and never gave up — even when things got tough. I want every young person out there to know: your dreams are valid, and with dedication, anything is possible.”

Bolt holds the current world records in both the 100m (9.58 seconds) and 200m (19.19 seconds) sprints — times that have stood since 2009. His remarkable performances and electric personality made him a household name far beyond the world of athletics. Guinness World Records has now officially named Bolt a “Global Sports Icon,” an honor reserved for individuals whose influence extends beyond records and statistics.

Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, praised Bolt’s contribution: “Usain Bolt is not only a record breaker — he’s a symbol of excellence, determination, and inspiration. His name is synonymous with speed, but his legacy is about so much more than that. He’s inspired generations to chase their dreams, both on and off the track.”

The ceremony, held in Kingston, featured video tributes from fellow athletes, fans, and world leaders. Bolt’s message resonated deeply, particularly with young athletes from developing nations, many of whom see his story as a powerful testament to what can be achieved with grit and belief.

Bolt concluded his message with a call to action:

> “If you want to break a record, don’t just chase numbers — chase greatness. And remember, it’s not just about being the fastest or the strongest. It’s about showing up every day, putting in the work, and believing in yourself when no one else does.”

Since retiring from athletics in 2017, Bolt has ventured into music, philanthropy, and youth sports development. He continues to be a passionate advocate for opportunities in sport, especially for youth in underprivileged communities.

As the Guinness World Records title cements his status in history, Usain Bolt remains a towering figure of inspiration — proving that while speed may be fleeting, legacy lasts forever.
