In a video shared on social media, Staley opened a special box containing Wilson’s long-awaited Nike signature kicks. As soon as she realized what was inside, her eyes lit up and she let out an emotional, joyful gasp. “No way! These are yours?” she asked, beaming with pride. “Man… you did that!”
Staley, who coached Wilson at South Carolina and led the team to a national championship in 2017, has often spoken about how proud she is of Wilson’s growth both on and off the court. Seeing one of her former players break barriers and earn a signature shoe deal clearly hit home in a special way.
