Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is heading into his first offseason as a Super Bowl winner, but he’s facing a familiar situation as he gets ready for the next campaign.

Hurts will be working with a new offensive coordinator for the fourth consecutive year, with Kevin Patullo stepping in after Kellen Moore left to become the Saints’ head coach. Moore followed Brian Johnson and Shane Steichen in the role. Despite the constant changes, head coach Nick Sirianni said on Tuesday that Hurts has remained consistent in his approach. “He’s doing what he always does,” Sirianni said, according to a team transcript. “He’s starting from scratch, training hard, staying sharp in the film room and on the field.”

Patullo has been with the Eagles since Sirianni’s arrival in 2021, so this transition isn’t as drastic as previous ones. Hurts noted that experiencing so many coaching styles has actually helped his development by giving him a broader range of tools to use. “You’re always trying to get better, even by just one percent,” Hurts told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “Having worked with multiple offensive coordinators and quarterback coaches has been a benefit. I’ve used each experience to grow and figure out how to best lead and perform.”

While the Eagles’ offense hasn’t always been perfectly in sync with Hurts under center, his flexibility and consistent production have helped past coordinators like Steichen and Moore advance to head coaching jobs. If the offense thrives again in 2025, Patullo could be the next to make that leap with Hurts playing a key role in his rise.
