In a seismic shift on the college football recruiting trail, the No. 1-ranked high school player in the nation, five-star quarterback Malik Anderson, has officially committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, turning down powerhouse programs Tennessee, Auburn, and Georgia in a decision that has stunned fans and analysts alike.

 

Anderson, a 6-foot-4 dual-threat quarterback out of Cedar Grove High School in Atlanta, Georgia, announced his decision via a live-streamed event Monday morning, donning a red Nebraska hat amid cheers from family and friends.

Nebraska’s successful recruitment of Anderson marks a major coup for head coach Matt Rhule, who took over the Cornhuskers program in 2023 with a vision of returning the once-proud powerhouse to national relevance.
