MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s basketball head coach Kim Caldwell has officially added another key piece to her growing roster. Caldwell announced today that transfer forward Jersey Wolfenbarger has signed an Institutional Financial Aid Agreement (IFAA) and will join the Mountaineers for the upcoming season.

Wolfenbarger, a 6-foot-5 forward, arrives in Morgantown with impressive credentials and high expectations. A former five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American out of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Wolfenbarger spent the past three seasons with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Her combination of size, skill, and versatility adds a new dimension to Caldwell’s team as it prepares for its second season under her leadership.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome Jersey to the Mountaineer family,” Caldwell said. “She brings a high level of talent, competitiveness, and experience to our program. Jersey’s ability to stretch the floor, defend multiple positions, and impact the game in different ways makes her a perfect fit for our system.”

During her time at Arkansas, Wolfenbarger made an immediate impact as a freshman, averaging 8.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while shooting over 40% from the field. She appeared in 30 games, starting 17, and quickly established herself as one of the top young players in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Though her sophomore season saw a dip in playing time due to team depth and rotation changes, she continued to show flashes of elite potential.

Her decision to transfer was driven by the desire for a fresh start and a new opportunity to develop her game under a coach known for player development and an up-tempo, defensive-minded style.

“Coach Caldwell has a vision and energy that really stood out to me during the recruiting process,” said Wolfenbarger. “I’m excited to be part of what she’s building at WVU and can’t wait to get to work with my new teammates.”

Caldwell, who took over the program in 2024, has made an immediate impact by instilling a gritty, fast-paced identity and securing top-level talent through both recruiting and the transfer portal. Wolfenbarger joins a strong core of returners and fellow transfers as the Mountaineers look to contend in the Big 12 and make a deep postseason run.

Standing at 6-foot-5, Wolfenbarger brings rare length and mobility to the forward position, offering rim protection on defense and the ability to stretch defenses with her shooting. Her presence is expected to bolster both ends of the court and provide valuable leadership as a veteran player.

The addition of Wolfenbarger continues Caldwell’s strong offseason, which has seen the program draw national attention for its aggressive roster building and competitive outlook.

With her paperwork complete and her commitment made official through the IFAA, Wolfenbarger will be eligible to participate in all team activities and suit up for the Mountaineers in the 2025–26 season.

“This is just the beginning,” Caldwell added. “Jersey is ready to make an impact, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the Old Gold and Blue.”
