Quarterback Ty Simpson joined offensive lineman Tyler Booker, linebacker Jihaad Campbell, and quarterback Jalen Milroe all potential first-round picks as well as head coach Kalen DeBoer in Green Bay, Wisconsin for the NFL Draft’s opening round. Following spring practices, Simpson emerged as the leading candidate for the starting role, with offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb stating he’d be the starter “if we’re playing a football game tomorrow.” Ty’s father, Jason Simpson, told The Tuscaloosa News that Ty has handled the quarterback competition well, staying emotionally steady. He emphasized Ty’s experience in previous battles for the position and his understanding of protecting the ball, managing possessions wisely, and leading the team not just with numbers, but through relationships and locker room leadership.
