How Jalen Milroe can make history in NFL Draft 2025 for Alabama football..

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has the opportunity to cement the Crimson Tide as the undisputed “Quarterback U” of the SEC this week.

If Milroe is selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, he would become the seventh Alabama quarterback to earn that distinction a milestone that would set Alabama apart from all other SEC programs in terms of first-round quarterbacks, according to AL.com’s review of Pro Football Reference data. Currently, Alabama is technically in a three-way tie with LSU and Florida, each claiming six first-round QBs though those numbers come with caveats.

LSU’s total includes Y.A. Tittle, who was drafted in the first round twice once in 1948 and again in 1951 after his original league, the All-America Football Conference, folded. Florida’s count features Wayne Peace, a first-round selection in the 1984 NFL supplemental draft, rather than the standard draft.

Depending on how you interpret those asterisks, Alabama could already be leading. But if Milroe goes in the first round, the Tide will officially hold the record without dispute. Whether that happens is uncertain projections for Milroe range from the first to the third round.

Still, when the draft begins Thursday night in Green Bay, Alabama has a shot to make SEC history.

Alabama first-round QBs: Bryce Young, Mac Jones, Tua Tagovailoa, Richard Todd, Joe Namath, Harry Gilmer

LSU first-round QBs: Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow, JaMarcus Russell, Bert Jones, Y.A. Tittle (x2)

Florida first-round QBs: Anthony Richardson, Tim Tebow, Rex Grossman, Wayne Peace, John Reaves, Steve Spurrier.
