LINCOLN, Neb. — The Cornhuskers are making waves on the recruiting trail once again.
Four-star wide receiver Nalin Scott, one of the top-ranked prospects in the 2025 class, has Nebraska firmly on his radar after a recent visit to Lincoln. The dynamic pass-catcher out of Cedar Grove High School (GA) took an unofficial visit to Nebraska this past weekend and came away impressed by the program’s direction under head coach Matt Rhule.
“The energy was real,” Scott said in an interview following his visit. “From the coaching staff to the players to the fans—it felt like a place where football really matters, and that’s important to me.”
Scott, who measures 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, is known for his explosive speed, crisp route-running, and big-play ability. He holds over 20 scholarship offers from major programs including Georgia, Tennessee, Penn State, and Florida State. But after his stop in Lincoln, Nebraska may have positioned itself as a serious contender.
A key part of that impression came from wide receivers coach Garret McGuire, who Scott described as “genuine” and “relatable.” The two spent significant time reviewing film and discussing how Scott would fit into Nebraska’s evolving offensive scheme.
“They broke down exactly how they see me being used,” Scott said. “It’s not just talk—they had a plan for me. That meant a lot.”
Scott also noted the culture shift happening in Lincoln. With Rhule entering his second year and building momentum with a strong 2024 recruiting class, prospects like Scott are taking notice.
“You can feel it,” he said. “They’re building something real. It’s not just hype. The facilities are top-notch, the coaches are hungry, and the fanbase is crazy in the best way.”
This visit was Scott’s first to Nebraska, but according to sources close to his recruitment, it won’t be his last. He’s expected to return for an official visit this summer, potentially during one of the program’s marquee recruiting weekends.
Scott’s decision timeline remains fluid, though he’s expressed a desire to commit before his senior season begins. For now, Nebraska finds itself in the mix with several powerhouse programs—but it’s clear they’ve made a major move in his recruitment.
Recruiting analysts are starting to take notice, with some hinting that Nebraska could emerge as a dark horse to land Scott if the relationship continues to grow.
“Don’t sleep on Nebraska here,” one national analyst said. “They’re putting in the work, and kids like Nalin are seeing it. This staff is relentless, and they’re making Lincoln a place elite talent is seriously considering again.”
For Nebraska fans, Scott’s visit is just the latest sign that the program is trending in the right direction—and that the Huskers may soon be landing more elite talent as they aim to return to national relevance.
Stay tuned for more updates as Scott narrows down his options in the coming months.
