Jack Lisowski to Take Snooker Break as He Prepares to Welcome ‘Little Pele’ With Brazilian Fiancée

World No. 18 Jack Lisowski is preparing for a major change in his personal life, with the snooker star planning to take time away from competition in early 2027 to welcome his first child with Brazilian fiancée Bela Nogueira.

Jack Lisowski is set to put his snooker career temporarily on hold in the early months of 2027 as he prepares to become a father for the first time.

The 35-year-old Englishman and his fiancée, Bela Nogueira, are expecting a baby boy towards the end of January. The couple have affectionately nicknamed their unborn son “Little Pele” in reference to the legendary Brazilian footballer.

Lisowski, currently ranked 18th in the world, has confirmed that he expects to miss at least one or two tournaments to be present for the birth in Brazil.

Speaking about the upcoming arrival, the snooker star admitted that fatherhood would bring significant changes to his life.

He acknowledged that he was unsure what to expect, having heard from others about the sleepless nights and responsibilities that come with raising a child. Nevertheless, he described the experience as an exciting new chapter.

“Life’s going to change,” Lisowski explained, reflecting on the preparations already underway for his son’s arrival.

The couple have begun purchasing essential items for the baby’s nursery as they prepare to welcome their first child.

Emotional Baby Reveal in Brazil

The couple discovered the baby’s sex during a special celebration in Brazil in August, attended by their respective families.

The reveal featured a dog carrying blue balloons into the room, confirming that they were expecting a boy.

Lisowski revealed that he had secretly hoped his first child would be a son, making the announcement particularly special.

The moment also brought back emotional memories of his late father, who died in March 2025.

The snooker player explained that becoming a father had made him reflect on his own childhood and the relationship he shared with his dad.

He expressed his hope that he would be able to recreate some of those experiences with his son, describing the prospect as deeply emotional.

For Lisowski, the arrival represents much more than a change to his professional schedule. It is an opportunity to begin a new chapter of family life.

Lisowski Determined to Improve His Ranking

Despite the excitement surrounding his impending fatherhood, Lisowski remains focused on his professional ambitions.

The Englishman admitted that his start to the 2026–27 season had been disappointing, leaving him frustrated with his performances.

Knowing that he would be unavailable for part of January and February, he has been attempting to make the most of his opportunities before taking his planned break.

Lisowski explained that he had been working hard to improve his position before temporarily stepping away from the tour.

He also acknowledged that the standard of professional snooker continues to rise, with more players demonstrating the ability to produce consistently high-quality performances.

However, he insisted that he was not in a crisis and remained determined to rediscover his best form.

Defending His Northern Ireland Open Title

Lisowski’s immediate attention is on the Northern Ireland Open, where he is preparing to defend the first ranking title of his professional career.

He won the tournament in October 2025 after defeating close friend Judd Trump 9–8 in a thrilling final in Belfast.

The victory was a significant milestone for Lisowski, who had previously lost six ranking-event finals before finally securing his maiden title.

His breakthrough triumph demonstrated his ability to compete with the sport’s leading players and provided a memorable moment in his career.

Now, with fatherhood approaching, he hopes to build momentum and improve his ranking before his planned absence from competition.

The upcoming months will therefore be important both professionally and personally, as Lisowski attempts to balance his ambitions on the snooker table with the responsibilities of becoming a parent.

A New Chapter Beyond Snooker

Lisowski’s decision to prioritise his family highlights the importance of the life-changing event awaiting him in January.

Although his absence could mean missing valuable opportunities on the professional circuit, he has made it clear that being present for his son’s birth is a priority.

With the baby expected in Brazil, travelling to be with Nogueira will require adjustments to his tournament schedule.

The world-ranked player is embracing the transition, describing himself as a more mature family man who is learning as he prepares for fatherhood.

For Lisowski, the challenge ahead is to maintain his competitive edge while making room for one of the most significant moments of his life.

As he prepares to defend his Northern Ireland Open crown and pursue better results, the arrival of “Little Pele” promises to make 2027 a memorable year for the snooker star and his growing family.
