ACC highlighted another accolade to Flagg’s remarkable résumé, announcing that he is the first player in Duke history to lead the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in a single season…

DURHAM, N.C. — The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) added another feather to Cooper Flagg’s already impressive cap this week, recognizing the freshman phenom for an unprecedented achievement in Duke basketball history. Flagg became the first Blue Devil ever to lead the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks over the course of a single season—an accomplishment that further cements his status as one of the most versatile players in college basketball.

This milestone underscores not only Flagg’s individual brilliance but also the historic nature of his inaugural campaign with the Blue Devils. Since arriving in Durham, the 6-foot-9 forward has lived up to—and arguably exceeded—the sky-high expectations that surrounded him as the top recruit in the country. With an elite blend of athleticism, basketball IQ, and poise beyond his years, Flagg has been the engine that powered Duke on both ends of the court.

“Cooper’s impact on this program has been nothing short of transformational,” Duke head coach Jon Scheyer said in a statement. “For a freshman to lead in all five major statistical categories speaks to the kind of competitor and teammate he is. He plays the game the right way, and he’s always focused on helping the team win.”

Flagg’s season stats are as balanced as they are dominant. Averaging 17.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game, he has not only filled up the box score, but also provided Duke with a level of two-way versatility rarely seen in the college game. Whether it was hitting clutch shots, locking down opposing stars, or setting up teammates with precision passes, Flagg consistently found ways to affect the outcome.

His defensive prowess, in particular, drew praise throughout the season. With an uncanny ability to read plays and anticipate opponents’ moves, Flagg often served as the linchpin of Duke’s defense—guarding multiple positions, contesting shots at the rim, and initiating fast breaks off steals.

The ACC’s recognition is the latest in a growing list of honors for Flagg, who has already been named ACC Freshman of the Year and is a strong contender for multiple national awards, including the Wooden and Naismith trophies. Despite the accolades, those around him say Flagg remains grounded and focused.

“Cooper’s humility and work ethic are what set him apart,” Scheyer added. “He’s never satisfied and always looking to improve. That’s what makes this just the beginning for him.”

Flagg’s historic season has energized the Duke faithful and brought back memories of some of the program’s all-time greats. But even among the legends that have donned the Blue and White, none have managed the statistical sweep that Flagg now claims.

As Duke prepares for the postseason, Flagg’s all-around brilliance offers both a symbol of the team’s identity and a beacon of its championship hopes. Whatever the tournament holds, Cooper Flagg has already carved out a legacy at Cameron Indoor Stadium—and he’s just getting started.
