Big Ten, SEC Prospect Reveals USC Offer ‘Changes’ Order

The USC Trojans are dominating the 2026 recruiting cycle, outperforming every other school when it comes to landing top-tier talent from power conferences. One prospect, being pursued by both Big Ten and SEC programs, admitted that a USC offer has reshuffled his list of favorites.

Among USC’s top targets is tight end Luke Sorensen, a three-star recruit from Servite High School in Anaheim. Currently, Sorensen is showing strong interest in Nebraska and UCLA of the Big Ten, while also considering SEC schools like Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Miami, a notable ACC program, is also in the mix.

USC entered the race in early April with an offer, which immediately grabbed Sorensen’s attention. In a conversation with Connor Morrissette of uscfootball.com, Sorensen admitted the Trojans are now a serious contender. “The offer changes things,” he said. “All the schools I’ve been visiting were in my top five or six, but USC coming in definitely makes them a frontrunner, to be honest.”

He went on to explain that USC’s proximity adds to the appeal. “It’s a great school. The chance to stay in California is a big plus,” Sorensen said.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 230 pounds, Sorensen is a standout in California’s elite Trinity League, home to powerhouse programs like Mater Dei and St. John Bosco. College coaches regularly scout the league for high-end talent, especially from major conferences. Sorensen is catching attention for his strong hands and physical blocking style.

USC is making a serious push for him, with tight ends coach Chad Savage, GM Chad Bowen, and player personnel director Max Steinecker leading the charge. “When I got the offer, they told me they wanted to get it done quickly,” Sorensen said. “They really want me there, and I’m definitely considering it. I could see myself playing under Coach Lincoln Riley and Coach Savage.”

If Sorensen commits, he would be USC’s first tight end pledge in this cycle. The Trojans already have 22 verbal commitments for the class.
