LSU Lands No. 1 WR Tristen Keys in 2026 Recruiting Class

LSU secured a massive commitment for its 2026 recruiting class as top-ranked wide receiver Tristen Keys announced his pledge on Wednesday. Despite holding offers from nearly every major program in the country, the elite playmaker chose to join LSU’s storied wide receiver pipeline in Baton Rouge.

Hailing from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Keys is one of the premier prospects in his class. Ranked No. 4 overall and the No. 1 wide receiver by 247Sports, he becomes LSU’s highest-rated receiver recruit since Early Doucet in 2004 and one of the top signees in the program’s modern recruiting history. Explaining his decision, Keys told 247Sports’ Tom Loy, “It was the best place for me to get to the next level in life and football. Even if football doesn’t work out, I’ll be successful just by going to LSU. You see Angel Reese, Malik Nabors, Jetta, Shaq they all went there. LSU develops you in every way possible.”

With Keys on board, LSU now boasts a top-five recruiting class for 2026. He joins fellow wideouts Kenny Darby, a Top247 recruit, and three-star Jakai Anderson. Standing at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Keys brings a dynamic skill set that projects well at both the college and NFL levels.

“A potential game-wrecker on the outside who can attack all three levels and constantly challenge defenses,” 247Sports scouting director Andrew Ivins wrote. “He combines elite ball skills with precise route running, superior athleticism, and a long-levered frame.”

This commitment marks a significant win for Brian Kelly’s staff as they continue to build toward national title contention. Entering the 2025 season as an SEC powerhouse, LSU’s future looks even brighter with Keys in the fold.
