Massive Announcement Made About Julien Alfred’s Return as Track and Field Star Eyes New Record.

Julien Alfred’s name is already cemented in Saint Lucia’s history, but she’s far from done. After an unforgettable 2024 winning Olympic gold, dominating the World Athletics Indoor Championships, and earning a nomination for World Athletics Female Athlete of the Year—her hunger for success remains insatiable. As she steps into 2025, Alfred is focused on breaking new records and proving she belongs among track and field’s all-time greats.

Her blistering speed has sparked debates, with even Noah Lyles once controversially suggesting she might be better than Sha’Carri Richardson before later backtracking. But the message was clear: Alfred is a rising force in the sport. Now, as she prepares for another season, all eyes are on what’s next.

A Fresh Challenge at the Miramar Invitational

Alfred is set to headline the 2025 Miramar Invitational on April 5, marking her debut at the prestigious event. Hosted at the fast-paced Ansin Sports Complex in Florida, this World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meet serves as an early-season test for the Saint Lucian sprinter. While Miramar is a major event, it’s likely just a warm-up for the bigger races ahead. Her recent performance at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston—where she set a national record in the 300m with a time of 36.16 seconds suggests she’s in top form.

Beyond Miramar, Alfred has her sights set on major international competitions. She has expressed excitement about competing in the Diamond League races in Norway and Sweden, eager to showcase her speed in front of Scandinavian fans.

The Relentless Pursuit of Excellence

Winning Saint Lucia’s first-ever Olympic gold was historic, but for Alfred, it was just the beginning. She is determined to solidify her place among the legends of the sport. Her journey, built on relentless hard work and perseverance, is far from over. After narrowly missing out on the World Athletics Athlete of the Year award, she acknowledged that she still has areas to improve. “I have a lot to work on getting stronger, improving my core, and building mental resilience,” she said.

Alfred’s outdoor season is packed with high-stakes events. Following the Miramar Invitational, she will compete in the Wanda Diamond League opener in Xiamen on April 26, followed by the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 12 and the BAUHAUS Galan in Stockholm on June 15. However, her ultimate target remains the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, where she aims to cement her dominance on the global stage.

For Alfred, success is about more than medals it’s about legacy. While Saint Lucia continues to celebrate its golden girl, she remains laser-focused on pushing boundaries. With her drive and talent, the 2025 season promises to be another electrifying chapter in her already extraordinary career.
