Duke freshman Cooper Flagg and Auburn senior Johni Broome were unanimously selected to the AP All-America First Team on Monday, each receiving all 61 first-place votes. They are among three first-team selections leading No. 1-seeded teams into this year’s NCAA Tournament, alongside Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr. Alabama’s Mark Sears and Purdue’s Braden Smith also earned first-team honors.
Texas Tech’s JT Toppin, the Big 12 Player of the Year, headlined the AP All-America Second Team, joined by Marquette’s Kam Jones who follows in the footsteps of his teammate Tyler Kolek, a second-team honoree last year. Wisconsin’s John Tonje, Memphis’ PJ Haggerty, and St. John’s RJ Luis Jr. also secured second-team selections.
The Third Team featured Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner, Tennessee’s Zakai Zeigler, Villanova’s Eric Dixon, Houston’s LJ Cryer, and Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson, marking the third All-America recognition of Dickinson’s career. Notably, all but one of the 15 players named across the three teams Villanova’s Eric Dixon will compete in this year’s NCAA Tournament, underscoring the level of talent in March Madness. Four of the honorees are part of No. 1 seeds, while five play for teams ranked as No. 3 seeds or higher.
