Alessia Russo has been shortlisted for the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Season award after another impressive campaign for Arsenal.

With three league fixtures still remaining against Aston Villa Women, Everton Women and Liverpool Women, the forward has recorded nine goals and five assists in 19 WSL appearances this season. Her adaptability has also stood out, featuring both as a traditional striker and in a deeper number 10 role.

Russo is close to matching the most productive seasons of her career, having already equalled her highest assist return and moved within one goal of a fourth consecutive league campaign reaching double figures.

She will compete for the award alongside Kerstin Casparij, Kirsty Hanson, Olivia Holdt, Ruby Mace, Jess Park, Khadija Shaw and Alyssa Thompson.
