“Lara Gut-Behrami is reportedly making steady progress in her recovery, keeping alive the possibility of a return to the World Cup circuit.
Roughly three and a half months ago, the Swiss star saw her hopes of competing in another Olympic Games come to a sudden halt after suffering serious knee injuries, including damage to her cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament, and meniscus. The setback disrupted what was expected to be her farewell season, leaving uncertainty over whether she will stick to her retirement plans or attempt a comeback next winter.
Since the training accident in Copper Mountain, Gut-Behrami has largely stayed out of the public eye. Unlike Lindsey Vonn, she has not shared regular updates on social media and has kept her recovery process private, offering no official statements about her condition or future.
According to Swiss Alpine director Hans Flatscher, however, her rehabilitation is progressing well. He noted that she is fully committed to her recovery program, training with maximum intensity and discipline. So far, her rehab in Lugano has gone smoothly without complications, and she is working with a physiotherapist familiar with her past injuries.
Flatscher believes Gut-Behrami has not yet made a final decision about her career. He suggested that she may only determine her future once she is back on skis. For now, he remains hopeful, emphasizing her consistency and dedication as key traits that could support a successful return, though the ultimate choice rests entirely with her.”
