Alessia Russo Named Arsenal Women’s Player of the Month for February.

Alessia Russo has been voted Arsenal Women’s Player of the Month for February after delivering a series of strong performances that helped the team progress in both the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the Women’s FA Cup.

The striker netted three goals in four appearances during the month, earning 38 percent of the fan vote. She finished ahead of fellow nominees Caitlin Foord and Olivia Smith. It marks Russo’s second Player of the Month award this season after also winning in November.

February began with a Women’s Super League clash against Manchester City Women, where Russo started in a No.10 role. Her midfield display helped support Smith, whose goal secured a narrow 1–0 victory.

Russo later made an impact in the Champions League playoff against OH Leuven Women. Although she started the first leg on the bench in Belgium, she came on as a substitute and scored Arsenal’s fourth goal in a comfortable 4–0 win.

After a postponed league match against Brighton & Hove Albion Women, Arsenal hosted Leuven again at Meadow Park for the return leg. Wearing the No.23 shirt, Russo led the attack and scored twice in a 3–1 victory that secured Arsenal’s place in the quarter-finals. One of those strikes marked her 50th goal for Arsenal Women, with 16 of those coming in the Champions League.

Her impressive form continued on international duty with England women’s national football team. Russo scored twice in a 6–1 win over Ukraine women’s national football team and then played the full 90 minutes as England defeated Iceland women’s national football team 2–0 at City Ground.

The February honor marks the sixth time Russo has claimed Arsenal’s Player of the Month award, adding to her previous wins in April 2024, December 2024, February 2025, March 2025, and November 2025.
