Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has hinted that life after basketball could include a surprising new arena: professional wrestling.

The 29-year-old WNBA sharpshooter recently spoke about her interest in WWE during an episode of Show Me Something, the podcast she launched in July alongside TV and sports personality West Wilson, best known for his role on Summer House. The show features candid conversations about sports, WNBA storylines and pop culture.

During the episode, Cunningham revealed that WWE had previously reached out to her about getting involved. While nothing is imminent, she didn’t rule it out, suggesting a wrestling stint could happen after she retires or even during an offseason. She jokingly floated the idea of teaming up with Wilson as a WWE duo.

Cunningham has built a strong reputation in the WNBA as a reliable perimeter shooter and tough competitor. She owns a career three-point shooting mark of 37%, highlighted by a personal-best 43% season with Indiana last year. Beyond her shooting, she’s known for her physical defense and willingness to stand up for teammates, earning her the label of the Fever’s “enforcer,” particularly for her role in protecting rookie star Caitlin Clark.

Her interest in wrestling runs deep. Cunningham spoke fondly of growing up as a WWE fan, naming legends such as John Cena, Kane and Hulk Hogan among her favorites. She recalled intense childhood wrestling matches with her older sister, Lindsey, that often ended only when their parents intervened.

Cunningham also praised Cena, who recently competed in his final match after a 24-year wrestling career. While Wilson admitted he never fully embraced wrestling and viewed it as scripted, he still complimented Cena as a likable actor. Cunningham, however, made it clear she was fully immersed in WWE culture, saying it always resonated with her.

Whether it leads to a cameo or a full-blown career change remains to be seen, but Cunningham appears open to stepping into the wrestling ring someday.
