Henderson Motorsports’ Parker Kligerman initially took the checkered flag at the 2025 NASCAR Truck Series season opener, the Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway, marking what would have been his first series win since 2022 and his first superspeedway victory since 2017.
However, a post-race inspection revealed that Kligerman’s No. 75 Chevrolet was too low on both sides at the rear, leading to his disqualification. Tricon Garage’s Corey Heim, who finished second, was declared the official winner.
Henderson Motorsports plans to appeal the decision, but for now, Kligerman has been relegated to 36th place, stripping him of what could have been his fourth career Truck Series win. His previous victories include Talladega in 2012 (Red Horse Racing), Talladega in 2017, and Mid-Ohio in 2022 (both with Henderson Motorsports).
The disqualification has significant playoff implications. Kligerman, not being a full-time driver, initially left all 10 playoff spots up for grabs after the season opener. With Heim’s full-time status, his victory secures him a playoff spot as he seeks a third consecutive Championship 4 appearance and his first title.
Rookie Gio Ruggiero impressed with a second-place finish in his series debut, adding to Tricon Garage’s strong start to the season.
The next Truck Series race, the Fr8 208, is set for Saturday, February 22, at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It remains uncertain whether Kligerman will participate, with live coverage starting at 1:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
