World number one Aryna Sabalenka has revealed that she is engaged to Georgios Frangulis as she prepares to compete at Indian Wells following an extended hiatus.
The Belarusian star is set to return to action after her defeat in the final of the Australian Open in January. Sabalenka and Frangulis, chief executive of global health-food brand OakBerry, have been in a relationship since 2024.
She confirmed the news on Tuesday via Instagram, sharing a photo of her engagement ring with her 4.7 million followers and writing that everything had gone well.
Earlier this year, after winning the Brisbane International, Sabalenka hinted that her relationship could soon reach a new milestone, thanking her boyfriend and suggesting she might soon be calling him by a different title.
Sabalenka, who was beaten by Elena Rybakina in the Melbourne final, has received a bye into the second round at Indian Wells. The ATP 1000 and WTA 1000 main draw matches are scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
