Duke’s Scheyer Just Gave Ultimate Compliment to Current Team
Duke’s Jon Scheyer is singing praises about his current team, and it’s no surprise why. The Blue Devils are ranked No. 1 and are on a roll, with a 27-2 record and 15-1 in the ACC. Scheyer’s team has shown incredible growth, and he attributes this to their hard work and dedication.
After a dominant win over No. 11 Virginia, Scheyer praised his players, saying, “These guys have just put their head down, thrown themselves into the work… They’ve grown as much as any team that I’ve coached. And to see how they’ve come together and how connected they are on defense and offense — that’s the thing I’m most proud of”.
This isn’t the first time Scheyer has impressed with Duke. He’s led the Blue Devils to an ACC Tournament title and a Final Four appearance in just his third season as head coach. Last season, they achieved a 35-4 record, capturing both the ACC regular-season title and the ACC Tournament championship.
Scheyer’s ability to adapt and lead this young team is a testament to his coaching skills. With a roster that’s vastly different from last year’s, he’s done an incredible job of molding them into a cohesive unit. The Blue Devils’ versatility, size, and skill are attributes Scheyer highlights as key to their success ².
