Iga Swiatek Shares Official Update on Her End-of-Season Plans

Iga Swiatek has confirmed her next move as the 2025 WTA season nears its conclusion.

The world No. 2 has once again enjoyed a stellar year, collecting three more titles including her sixth Grand Slam trophy. In July, she made history by winning Wimbledon, becoming the first Polish player ever to claim the singles crown at the All England Club.

Swiatek followed that up with another strong performance at the Cincinnati Open, where she earned her 11th WTA 1000 title. Although her form dipped slightly during the Asian swing due to fatigue, she still triumphed at the Korea Open, dropping just one set en route to the title.

With 61 wins and 15 losses so far this season, Swiatek has already booked her place at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. Afterward, she plans to finish the year by representing Poland in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs in November.

In an Instagram post, the six-time Grand Slam champion shared:

“See you in Gorzów Wielkopolski! I’m happy to officially share this news, I’ll be playing in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs. It’s always special to compete for my country and in front of Polish fans. Our team will give everything, and I hope to see you there!”

Swiatek skipped the Billie Jean King Cup earlier this year after her Miami Open exit to wildcard Alexandra Eala, explaining that she needed to focus on balance and training. Without her, Poland advanced past Switzerland but later fell to Ukraine.

The 2025 Billie Jean King Cup title eventually went to Italy, who defeated the USA in the final.
