Randall Cobb admits truth about Packers’ treatment of stars.

The NFL operates as a business, which means every team including the Green Bay Packers must make difficult roster decisions, even when it involves players deeply connected to the franchise’s identity. Letting go of stars like Aaron Rodgers, Charles Woodson, and Randall Cobb was never easy, but each move was made with the team’s long-term success in mind.

Cobb, who spent a decade in Green Bay, recently discussed this reality on The Glory Daze Podcast, acknowledging that the organization’s approach is consistent.

“At some point, the Packers are going to move on from you,” Cobb said. “They’ve done it time and again, but always to make the team better. You have to respect that because at least they’re consistent. Looking at the roster now, they’ve got all the pieces I’m excited to see how they develop this season.”

Cobb’s honest remarks sparked a range of fan reactions on social media platforms like Threads.

One fan commented, “Great attitude from Cobb! He’d make a fantastic wide receivers coach especially if it’s with the Packers.” Another wrote, “Very classy, Randall. Much respect for you.”

Others shared personal sentiments, with one user saying, “Veterans who’ve been with the team for 10 years shouldn’t count against the salary cap.” Another added, “I’m still recovering from your departure, but your words gave me perspective.”

Fans also reminisced about his memorable moments, such as one recalling, “I still have my Randall Cobb jersey from that game-winning catch against Chicago with 48 seconds left!”

Throughout his 10 seasons with the Packers, Cobb became a beloved figure, recording 6,316 receiving yards, 47 touchdowns, and 532 receptions over 130 games forever cementing his place in Green Bay history.
