The landmark feat was completed with Mads Pedersen claiming the green jersey in the Vuelta a España, following his earlier triumph in the Giro d’Italia, while rising sprint star Jonathan Milan secured the coveted maillot vert at the Tour de France.
No team had ever managed to sweep all three points jerseys in one year — a testament not only to the brilliance of the individual riders but also to the depth, discipline, and strategy of the Lidl-Trek squad.
Pedersen’s Double: Giro & Vuelta
Mads Pedersen, the 2019 World Champion, has long been considered one of the most versatile riders in the peloton. In 2025, he elevated his status to historic heights.
In May, Pedersen stormed through the Giro d’Italia, winning multiple stages and wearing the maglia ciclamino (purple points jersey) almost uncontested by the final week. His ability to collect points both in sprints and from breakaways set him apart from purer sprinters.
Then in September, he repeated the act at the Vuelta a España. While the Spanish Grand Tour is typically hillier and less suited to traditional sprinters, Pedersen proved his endurance and tactical prowess. He secured valuable points through well-timed breakaways, intermediate sprints, and a memorable Stage 15 win, sealing his second Grand Tour points jersey of the season.
Jonathan Milan Rises in the Tour de France
While Pedersen dominated the Giro and Vuelta, it was Jonathan Milan, the Italian powerhouse, who carried the torch in July at the Tour de France.
The 24-year-old sprinter won two stages — including a dramatic victory on the Champs-Élysées — and wore the green jersey for most of the race. Milan combined raw speed with consistency, finishing top 5 in nearly every flat stage. His total of 372 points outpaced more seasoned rivals like Jasper Philipsen and Arnaud De Lie, signaling a new era in Tour sprinting.
His victory marked the first time an Italian had won the Tour’s green jersey since Alessandro Petacchi in 2010, and further underscored Lidl-Trek’s depth in sprinting talent.
A Team Effort
Behind each jersey stood an elite team structure. From lead-out trains to domestiques protecting their sprinters over mountains and through crashes, Lidl-Trek showed tactical perfection and discipline across three months of Grand Tour racing.
