Is Doylestown Native Pink Performing at the Eagles Season Opener This Year?

Word has been going around that Doylestown native Pink is set to perform at the Eagles’ Sept. 4 season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Rumors recently circulated that Doylestown native Pink would perform at the Philadelphia Eagles’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4, prompting the singer to clear the air online, according to JD Mullane of the Bucks County Courier Times.

Pink explained on Instagram that even her own family had asked about her supposedly being part of the halftime show at Lincoln Financial Field.

“I don’t have a song called ‘Gorilla.’ I wish I did because I’m curious,” she joked. “But I am not performing at football games or for football fans. It’s just not true. These stories are fake.”

The speculation appears to have started with an Eagles fan blog post on Aug. 22, which was later picked up and shared by the Facebook fan page “Fly Eagles Fly.”

“If you don’t hear it directly from me, then it’s not true,” the singer emphasized.

Pink, born Alecia Moore, famously sang the national anthem at Super Bowl LII before the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots. Although she won’t be performing at this year’s opener, the Bucks County native, who attended Central Bucks middle and high schools, still proudly embraces her hometown roots.
