DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University announced a significant development within its men’s basketball program on Monday, promoting Emanuel Dildy to Associate Head Coach. The move comes as part of Head Coach Jon Scheyer’s continued efforts to strengthen the Blue Devils’ coaching staff with top-tier talent and leadership as the program looks ahead to another competitive season in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Dildy, who joined Duke in 2023 as an assistant coach, has quickly made a strong impression within the program. Known for his player development skills, elite-level recruiting, and deep knowledge of the game, Dildy’s elevation reflects both his impact on the court and the trust placed in him by the coaching staff and administration.

A native of Chicago, Dildy brought over a decade of coaching experience to Duke, including successful stints at Northwestern, Missouri, Valparaiso, Loyola Chicago, and most recently, as an assistant at Oklahoma. His diverse background across various competitive programs has given him a broad understanding of different basketball philosophies and the ability to connect with players from all backgrounds.

Since joining the Blue Devils, Dildy has played a key role in recruiting top prospects and has been instrumental in offseason development work, particularly with the team’s backcourt. His hands-on approach and calm, focused demeanor have earned praise from both players and colleagues.
