German Heavy Metal Legends Accept Release Remixed Version of “Too Mean To Die” via Nuclear Blast
July 17, 2025 — German heavy metal icons Accept have dropped a thunderous remix of their 2021 album Too Mean To Die, now available worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records. Known for their signature blend of blistering riffs, anthemic choruses, and uncompromising energy, Accept are giving fans a fresh and revitalized take on one of their most successful modern-era albums.
Titled simply as a remixed edition of Too Mean To Die, the release breathes new life into the original recordings with a sharper, more contemporary edge. The remixing process was spearheaded by acclaimed producer Andy Sneap, who previously worked on the original version. Sneap—also known for his work with Judas Priest, Megadeth, and Testament—has dialed up the intensity, rebalancing guitar tones, enhancing the rhythm section, and polishing vocal layers to deliver a more aggressive and defined sonic experience.
Originally released in January 2021, Too Mean To Die was widely praised as a triumphant return for the band, marking their 16th studio album and their fifth with vocalist Mark Tornillo. Songs like “Zombie Apocalypse,” “Overnight Sensation,” and the title track became fan favorites, showcasing Accept’s ability to remain relevant in the modern metal scene while staying true to their classic sound.
With the remixed release, Accept aims to give longtime fans something new to appreciate while also introducing the album to a broader audience. “We wanted to honor the original record but also give it a punchier, more modern feel,” said guitarist and founding member Wolf Hoffmann in a press statement. “Andy [Sneap] really brought a new dimension to these songs. It’s the same beast—but meaner.”
The album features all 11 tracks from the original version, but with noticeable differences in clarity, dynamics, and atmosphere. Guitar solos cut through with sharper precision, bass lines groove more tightly, and drums pack a heavier punch. Tornillo’s vocals, always a highlight of modern Accept releases, are given even more prominence, reinforcing the band’s gritty and powerful aesthetic.
Nuclear Blast has released the remixed album in various formats, including CD, digital download, and a special limited-edition vinyl pressing. A new visualizer for the remixed title track “Too Mean To Die” has also been released on the label’s official YouTube channel, giving fans a taste of what to expect.
Accept continues to tour extensively across Europe and is slated to headline several summer festivals through 2025. The band has hinted that work on new material is underway, but in the meantime, this remixed version of Too Mean To Die serves as both a celebration of their recent work and a reassertion of their place at the forefront of heavy metal.
For fans old and new, Accept’s remixed Too Mean To Die is more than just a re-release—it’s a reminder that after more than four decades, the band still refuses to slow down.
