Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers has been named the Kia America Rookie of the Month for June, capping off a spectacular stretch that showcased her elite scoring and playmaking ability at the pro level.
Bueckers averaged 21.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in June, helping the Wings remain competitive despite a tough slate of opponents and a roster battling injuries. Her performance didn’t just turn heads it stamped her as a future star in the league.
Whether it was slicing through defenses with her smooth handle or knocking down clutch jumpers, Bueckers consistently gave Dallas a spark. She scored 20 or more points in six of the Wings’ nine games in June, including a career-high 28-point outing against the New York Liberty. Her court vision and feel for the game were also on full display, as she often created easy looks for teammates with sharp, instinctive passing.
Bueckers has quickly become one of the most dependable players on the Wings’ roster, with her poise and confidence standing out in crunch time. Despite being a rookie, she plays with the maturity of a seasoned veteran a reflection of her time as a collegiate standout at UConn.
This honor further solidifies Bueckers as one of the frontrunners for Rookie of the Year. She’s not only putting up impressive numbers but doing so efficiently and under pressure.
As the WNBA season pushes into the second half, all eyes will be on how Bueckers continues to elevate her game and lead the Wings forward. If June was any indication, the future is already beginning to arrive in Dallas.
