Duke Basketball Unveils Jersey Numbers for 2025–26 Season

DURHAM, N.C. – June 18, 2025 — The Duke Blue Devils have officially announced the jersey numbers for their 2025–26 men’s basketball roster, offering a first look at how returning players, incoming freshmen, and transfers will suit up as they prepare for another highly anticipated season under head coach Jon Scheyer.

Among the most notable assignments, freshman sensation Cooper Flagg will wear No. 2, a symbolic shift from the No. 32 he wore throughout high school. Flagg, the consensus No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, leads a star-studded group of newcomers that is expected to play a major role in Duke’s pursuit of another Final Four run.

Flagg is joined by fellow freshmen Isaiah Evans (No. 3), Kon Knueppel (No. 7), Darren Harris (No. 8), Khaman Maluach (No. 9), and Patrick Ngongba II (No. 21). This marks the second consecutive season Duke has utilized the NCAA’s expanded jersey number policy, which now allows players to wear digits previously restricted under old rules. Knueppel, Harris, and Maluach are among several players donning numbers in the 6–9 range — numbers that, until recently, were not permitted.

“We’re excited about this group and what they bring, both on the court and in terms of personality,” said Coach Scheyer in a statement. “It’s always fun to see the numbers our guys choose — they often carry personal meaning and represent a fresh start.”

Among returning players, Caleb Foster (No. 1) and Tyrese Proctor (No. 5) are back in their familiar jerseys. Both guards played key roles last season and are expected to lead the Blue Devils with their experience and backcourt chemistry. Proctor, entering his junior year, is poised to be one of the team’s cornerstones.

Duke’s transfer additions also have their numbers locked in. Maliq Brown, a junior forward transferring from Syracuse, will wear No. 6. Ifeanyi Ufochukwu, a 7-foot center from Rice, has been assigned No. 15, while Jack Scott, a guard from Princeton, will sport No. 20.

The team also retains several veteran walk-ons. Graduate guard Spencer Hubbard (No. 55) and center Stanley Borden (No. 52) return for their final seasons, bringing leadership and continuity to the locker room. Walk-on forward Neal Begovich is also back, keeping his No. 20 jersey.

The full release of jersey numbers not only fuels preseason excitement but also gives fans and media an early visual reference for what promises to be one of the most talented and deep Duke rosters in recent years. With a mix of returning stars, elite freshmen, and experienced transfers, the Blue Devils appear well-positioned for a strong 2025–26 campaign.

The season tips off in November, but Duke Nation already has plenty to look forward to — and now, they know exactly which numbers to cheer for.
