Philadelphia, PA — The University of Pennsylvania proudly announces JAMBAR as the Official Energy Bar of the 129th Running of the Penn Relays presented by Toyota. As one of the most iconic and historic track and field events in the world, the Penn Relays welcomes this exciting new partnership with JAMBAR, a brand that shares a deep commitment to health, performance, and community.

Founded by Jennifer Maxwell, a nutritionist, athlete, and co-founder of the original PowerBar, JAMBAR is crafted to fuel athletes with organic ingredients, balanced nutrition, and delicious taste. The brand redefines the modern energy bar with a focus on natural performance and purpose, supporting both athletic excellence and music education programs through its proceeds.

The 129th edition of the Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field from April 24 to April 26, 2025, draws over 15,000 participants from high school, college, and professional levels, and more than 100,000 spectators annually. JAMBAR’s role as the official energy bar signifies a meaningful collaboration aimed at supporting athletes with clean, effective fuel before and after their events.

“We are thrilled to welcome JAMBAR as both a partner of the Penn Relays and Penn Athletics,” said Dr. M. Grace Calhoun, Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Pennsylvania. “Their commitment to wellness, performance nutrition, and social impact aligns seamlessly with our values and the mission of Penn Athletics. Their presence will enhance the experience of athletes and fans alike.”

As part of the partnership, JAMBAR will be prominently featured throughout Franklin Field during the three-day event, with product sampling stations for athletes, coaches, and spectators. JAMBAR’s organic energy bars will also be provided in athlete recovery zones and VIP areas. The collaboration will extend beyond the relays, with JAMBAR becoming an official partner of Penn Athletics year-round, supporting teams across various sports.

“We are honored to be the Official Energy Bar of the Penn Relays,” said JAMBAR founder Jennifer Maxwell. “This event is a celebration of passion, perseverance, and athletic spirit—all values that JAMBAR was created to support. We are excited to fuel the athletes who give their all on the track and to become part of the Penn Athletics family.”

JAMBAR offers a line of USDA-certified organic energy bars that come in a variety of flavors, including Chocolate Cha Cha, Mango Madness, Musical Mango, and Malt Nut Melody. Each bar is non-GMO, gluten-free, and contains 10 grams of protein, designed to energize the body with no artificial additives.

This new partnership not only enhances the athlete experience but also reinforces the commitment of the Penn Relays to promote health and performance through thoughtful collaborations. As the relays continue to evolve, JAMBAR’s presence marks a step forward in championing better nutrition and athletic excellence.
