Zhao Xintong has been named the WPBSA Players’ Player of the Month for February after claiming two ranking titles during a standout month on the snooker circuit.
The reigning world champion captured both the World Grand Prix and the Players Championship, increasing his career total of ranking-event victories to five.
Zhao ended his wait for a ranking title since becoming Crucible champion last year by winning the World Grand Prix in Hong Kong. On his way to the trophy, he defeated John Higgins, Mark Selby, Chris Wakelin, Xiao Guodong and finally Zhang Anda in the final.
A few weeks later, the Chinese star continued his excellent form at the Players Championship. He overcame former Triple Crown winners Shaun Murphy and Mark Allen to reach the final, where he again defeated Higgins to secure another title.
His dominant performances throughout February earned him 90% of the vote, finishing ahead of fellow nominees Selby and Judd Trump.
