Paige Bueckers Speaks Out Against ICE After Protests in Home State of Minnesota.

The Dallas Wings guard didn't mince words when discussing what's going on at home.

Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers has acknowledged the influence that comes with her growing profile in the WNBA and used it to address recent ICE-related protests in her home state of Minnesota. While she now plays professionally in Dallas and has no current ties to Minnesota teams, Bueckers said her connection to the state remains strong.

Speaking to reporters, Bueckers described the situation as deeply troubling, explaining that she has grown up around peaceful protests and community action in response to injustice. She emphasized that innocent people are being harmed and families torn apart, creating fear around everyday activities such as going to school, work, or even the grocery store. Those realities, she said, feel personal because of her close ties to the community she was raised in.

Bueckers encouraged people to remain grounded, support one another, and continue pushing for peace and unity. She also commended Minnesota’s response to the situation, saying it reflects the values the state stands for.

However, she made clear that there is a firm line for her: what is happening now is unacceptable. Bueckers added that she hopes for a meaningful shift in the direction things are heading.

While it’s uncertain how often she will continue to speak publicly on the issue, the strong support she has received on social media suggests she may keep sharing her perspective. On the court, Bueckers remains focused on her play, continuing her Unrivaled season with Breeze BC as she prepares for her sophomore year in the WNBA.
