Lewis Hamilton handed early 2026 F1 boost with key Ferrari hiring.

Ferrari, after a winless 2025 season, have made a new signing just four weeks out from the new campaign

Ferrari have moved quickly to strengthen their technical setup ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season by recruiting French engineer Guillaume Dezoteux from Racing Bulls. The Scuderia are looking to bounce back from a disappointing, winless 2025 campaign as Lewis Hamilton prepares for his first full season with the team alongside Charles Leclerc.

Dezoteux brings significant experience, having spent 18 years with Red Bull’s junior outfit, where he most recently served as head of vehicle performance. Confirming his departure on LinkedIn, he described the move as the end of a long and memorable chapter, thanking the Red Bull organisation and wishing them success with their new car and power unit. At Ferrari, he will take on the role of head of performance operations, reporting to trackside engineering boss Matteo Togninalli.

The new signing will also work closely with sporting director Diego Ioverno within a revised technical structure overseen by technical director Loic Serra, who joined from Mercedes last year. Ferrari have yet to confirm Hamilton’s race engineer, with McLaren’s Cedric Michel-Grosjean and Hamilton’s current performance engineer Luca Diella both linked to the role. The 2026 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on 8 March.
