Iron Maiden, Architects, Nova Twins and Wolf Alice Announced as Ambassadors for National Album Day 2025

In an exciting celebration of British music, legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden, alongside modern rock trailblazers Architects, genre-defying duo Nova Twins, and alternative rock favourites Wolf Alice, have been announced as official ambassadors for National Album Day 2025.

Set to take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, National Album Day marks its eighth year by honouring the art of the album — a format that continues to define generations, challenge genres, and tell stories in a way no other medium can. This year’s theme, “Louder Than Words”, focuses on music that speaks volumes about culture, identity, and change — both personal and societal.

These four acts represent a cross-section of the UK’s vibrant and ever-evolving rock landscape, each known for their boundary-pushing albums and powerful messages.

Iron Maiden: Legends Still Roaring

With a legacy spanning over four decades, Iron Maiden have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, including classics such as The Number of the Beast and Powerslave. Their most recent record, Senjutsu (2021), showed the band still innovating while staying true to their roots. As ambassadors, the band’s involvement reflects National Album Day’s mission to celebrate the enduring impact of the album as an artistic statement.

Speaking on the announcement, bassist and founder Steve Harris said:

“Albums are how we’ve always told our stories. From the first record to the latest, it’s about the journey — the full experience, not just one song. We’re proud to stand with National Album Day and celebrate that.”

Architects: A Modern Voice for Heavy Music

Brighton metalcore giants Architects bring a more contemporary edge to the ambassador line-up. Known for their socially conscious lyrics and sonic evolution, albums like Holy Hell and For Those That Wish to Exist have earned critical acclaim and chart success.

Frontman Sam Carter shared:

“Albums gave us a place to speak out on what matters. From grief to climate change, everything we care about goes into them. It’s an honour to represent that voice on National Album Day.”

Nova Twins: Redefining Rock

Defiant, fierce, and innovative, Nova Twins have smashed stereotypes with their fusion of punk, grime, and alt-rock. Their 2022 Mercury Prize-nominated album Supernova was a statement on race, identity, and empowerment — a perfect fit for this year’s theme.

Band members Amy Love and Georgia South stated:

> “Being album ambassadors means everything to us. Albums let us be loud in ways we were told not to be. Our music is our resistance, our pride, and our truth.”

Wolf Alice: The Storytellers

Mercury Prize-winning quartet Wolf Alice have made their mark with lush, genre-blending records like Blue Weekend and Visions of a Life. Their cinematic, emotionally rich albums have won both critical and fan acclaim.

Vocalist Ellie Rowsell said:

“Albums let us build a world. They’re more than just playlists — they’re chapters of who we are.”

With these four powerhouse acts leading the charge, National Album Day 2025 promises to be a bold celebration of musical artistry. Fans can expect special events, exclusive releases, and in-depth conversations about the lasting power of the album format.
