Breaking News: Accept Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and Wife Involved in Serious Accident; Wolf Hoffmann Suffers Severe Fractures

Fellow musicians, including members of Judas Priest, Scorpions, and Helloween, have posted messages of support online.

Wolf Hoffmann, lead guitarist and founding member of the legendary German heavy metal band Accept, has reportedly been involved in a serious accident alongside his wife, according to early reports emerging from Berlin late Tuesday evening. The accident, described as “severe,” has left Hoffmann hospitalized with multiple fractures, while his wife’s condition is reported as stable but requiring ongoing observation.

The incident occurred around 8:45 PM local time on Monday night, when the couple’s vehicle was involved in a collision near the Berlin-Mitte district. Eyewitnesses claim that a delivery van ran a red light, striking the passenger side of the Hoffmanns’ car at high speed. Emergency services responded swiftly, and both Wolf and his wife were transported to the Charité Hospital in Berlin for immediate medical attention.

According to preliminary medical reports, Hoffmann sustained multiple fractures in his left arm and collarbone, as well as rib injuries. Sources close to the hospital suggest he underwent emergency surgery early Tuesday morning and is now in stable condition. Doctors remain optimistic about his recovery but have stated that he will require weeks of rehabilitation and physical therapy.

His wife, whose name has not been released publicly out of respect for privacy, reportedly suffered a fractured wrist and minor head trauma. She is said to be in stable condition and conscious, with doctors monitoring her for any potential complications.

No official statement has yet been released by the band Accept, though fans have taken to social media in droves to express concern and support for the guitarist. The band’s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted a brief message early this morning: “Our thoughts are with Wolf and his wife. We ask for privacy and patience during this difficult time. More information will be shared soon.”

Wolf Hoffmann, 65, is one of the most respected figures in heavy metal. Known for his melodic solos and classical music influences, he has been the creative backbone of Accept since the late 1970s. The band had recently completed a leg of their European tour and was expected to begin a North American tour this fall. Those dates are now under review, according to sources close to the band’s management.

Fellow musicians, including members of Judas Priest, Scorpions, and Helloween, have posted messages of support online. Fans have begun organizing virtual vigils and sharing memories of past performances in tribute to Hoffmann’s musical legacy.

More details about the accident and Hoffmann’s recovery are expected in the coming days. For now, the metal community watches and waits, hoping for a strong and swift recovery for both Wolf Hoffmann and his wife.
