MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University football fans will have the chance to meet their favorite Mountaineers face-to-face during the team’s annual Fan Day, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 17. The event will take place at Milan Puskar Stadium and promises to be a fun-filled afternoon for fans of all ages.

Fan Day, a long-standing tradition in the WVU football program, gives supporters a unique opportunity to interact with players and coaches, collect autographs, and show their Mountaineer pride ahead of the upcoming season. The event is free and open to the public.

Doors to the stadium will open at 1 p.m., with the autograph session set to begin at 1:30 p.m. and last until 3 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as lines for popular players and coaching staff may form quickly.

“We look forward to Fan Day every year because it gives us a chance to connect with the people who support us all season long,” said head coach Neal Brown. “It’s a great atmosphere — families, kids, longtime fans — everyone comes together to celebrate West Virginia football.”

All players and coaches will be available for autographs, including fan favorites and rising stars of the 2025 roster. Fans are encouraged to bring items such as footballs, posters, and memorabilia to be signed. WVU will also provide free schedule posters while supplies last.

In addition to the autograph session, fans will have the opportunity to explore Milan Puskar Stadium from field level. Many use the event as a chance to snap photos on the turf, get a close-up look at the sidelines, and take in the stadium’s energy before the season officially kicks off.

The Mountaineer Ticket Office and WVU merchandise vendors will also be on-site, offering season tickets, single-game tickets, and official team gear for sale. Concessions will be available during the event, and water stations will be set up around the stadium to help guests stay cool in the August heat.

Security protocols will be in place, including the stadium’s clear bag policy. Fans are encouraged to review the guidelines on the WVU Athletics website before attending.

Fan Day marks one of the final public events before the Mountaineers enter the heart of preseason preparations. With anticipation building for the 2025 campaign, players are eager to show their appreciation to the fans who fuel their spirit.

“For a lot of us, this is our last Fan Day as Mountaineers,” said senior linebacker Owen Thomas. “It means a lot to have the chance to give back to the fans who’ve been with us through every game and every season.”

WVU is set to open its season on Saturday, Aug. 30, with a highly anticipated home matchup. Fan Day offers a perfect opportunity for supporters to show their enthusiasm and rally behind the team before the first snap of the year.
