Back on Top!! 🏆 The Women of Team USA🇺🇸Win Their First World Track and Field Championship

In a stunning display of speed, strength, and unity, the women of Team USA have claimed their first-ever team title at the World Athletics Championships, finishing atop the standings after a week of world-class performances on home soil.

Held in front of an electric crowd at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, this historic triumph marks a new era for American women in track and field. The U.S. women tallied an unprecedented 11 golds and 26 total medals across sprints, distance, field events, and relays — edging out perennial rivals Jamaica and Kenya for the overall crown.

“It’s more than a win — it’s a statement,” said U.S. women’s head coach Michelle Carter, herself a former world champion in the shot put. “This team showed grit, power, and heart. Every medal, every final, every point mattered.”

From the outset, the women of Team USA set the tone. Sha’Carri Richardson blazed to gold in the 100m and anchored the 4x100m relay team to a world-leading time, silencing doubters and igniting fans with her fiery performances. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone dominated the 400m hurdles once again, breaking her own championship record and solidifying her place as one of the sport’s greatest.

Distance runners also delivered. In a breakthrough performance, Alicia Monson earned silver in the 10,000m, while Natosha Rogers placed third in the 5,000m — a rare U.S. double podium in long-distance events traditionally ruled by East African nations.

Field events were just as commanding. Valarie Allman defended her discus title with a massive season-best throw, and Katie Moon soared to victory in the pole vault. Rising star Jasmine Moore stunned the field in the triple jump, leaping to gold with a personal best in the final round.

But it was the collective effort — from heats to finals, sprints to throws — that secured the overall championship. Every finalist contributed points under the new team scoring format, where placements across all events counted toward national rankings. In total, the U.S. women outscored their competitors by over 40 points, sealing their place atop the global track and field world.

This victory holds deeper significance. For years, the U.S. women had shone individually but narrowly missed the team title. With this triumph, they’ve not only proven their dominance but also their unity — and done so on home turf.

“This wasn’t just about medals,” said sprinter Gabby Thomas, who won bronze in the 200m. “It was about showing young girls that we’re powerful, that we belong here, and that together, we rise.”

World Athletics President Sebastian Coe called the win “a turning point for women’s sport,” praising the depth and development of the U.S. program.

As the team celebrated on the podium draped in stars and stripes, the message was clear: the women of Team USA are no longer chasing history — they’re making it.
